Hi there
Came across this site when looking for information on aerodynamics for a racing car. Fantastic job you have done. A lot of work and the racing community owes you a debt of gratitude. Thank you for your efforts. I'm also a Ferrari fan.I have been disappointed by the way the drivers championship has been handled through the years. If anyone is interested I can write my views and we can start a discussion forum. Thank you again for a great resource. smile

Great site, but F1 is not great any more. Hope we get the V8 back.

Prayers for Micheal-Schumi.

Honestly, I don't wish for V8. I think that word is moving forward and F1 must follow. Modern technology is there and our sport must follow. Actually not follow, lead!!

Prayers for Micheal-Schumi.

Postovani, vas sajt je odlican no imam jednu malu sugestiju.

SEAS

Excellent resource and I can't thank you enough for putting it all together. In fact, I spend so much time reading, following links and transferring concepts to my own build that I'm losing money by not working. Like right now. I think this is called addiction. Thanks alot.

Been a great read, with very interesting information.

Being a long time BMW owner, I have to point out some wrong info regarding BMW Vanos.

"But, as of 1999, BMW is offering its Double VANOS system on the new 3 Series and Valvetronic systems."

Double Vanos was first offered on the E36 M3 3.2, or Evo model as called in the UK.

The 1999 double Vanos was on a regular production engine. So while it's true it was first on a normal engine, double Vanos came to market 3 years earlier.

Hi MParallel,
All resources I have and find pointing out that it was 1999. If you find me some place where I can confirm, or if you have some resources, send it to me and I will be glad to correct this wrong data.
BTW, Thank's for noticing, and if you have something else to point out, do not hesitate to inform me.

Best regards,

I hope you consider a section on example scenarios for how one might tune aerodynamics and mechanics for certain conditions or better yet specific F1 circuits, and why. Understanding air flow and weight transfer is one thing, but comparing your explanations with a real world practical application can mean the difference between a theoretical understanding and totally getting it.

I was considering it, but then I start understand that for this article I will need a book and not only an article on my website.
This is so big area with so many variables...

The driver torque map represents the torque requested by the driver as a function of engine speed and accelerator pedal position.

Now when we talk about pedal maps we talk about the torque pedal map, which is a two dimensional map against engine speed and throttle pedal position.

What exactly does that mean?
"The driver torque map" and "torque pedal map" are same maps or not??
Could someone please explain to me.

Not they are not. Pedal map take into account a less data.

I would like to question again.

The driver demand torque map is 2-dimension table with engine speed and accelerator pedal position.
Torque pedal map is a two dimensional map against engine speed and throttle pedal position.

I think what "The driver torque map" and "torque pedal map" are same map...
Are "The driver torque map" and "torque pedal map" same maps or not??
Could someone please more explain to me again.

thank you.

many Grand Prix/Formula 1 names get forgoptten if they died other than in actual GP.

List of the death drivers is the list of drivers who competed at at least one F1 race and died behind the wheel of any racing car. Nothing else. This is not a list of all died racing drivers who died at home in the bed.

I was intrigued by your description of the magnetic shock absorber technology. This may be a stretch in the application of such technology, but why couldn't it be used in the creation of a "blanket" that would have multiple cells containing the fluids such that as magnetic charges were applied randomly to each cell the viscosity would change within the cell. This blanket could be used to support patients that are imobilized due to various disease states or circumstances and could help reduce or eliminate body sores associated with pressure point abrasion.
